COLUMBUS — It\u2019s now official \u2013 Van Wert will host Wauseon in the opening round of the Ohio High School Athletic Association football playoffs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The game will be played at 7 p.m. Friday night at Eggerss Stadium. Van Wert (9-1) is the No. 6 seed while Wauseon (6-4) is the No. 11 seed in Division IV, Region 14. The two teams met in the opening round last year and the Cougars posted a 53-20 victory. The winner of Friday\u2019s game will face the winner between No. 3 seed Perkins and No. 14 seed River Valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two Paulding County teams are playoff bound as well. In Division VI, Region 22, No. 15 Wayne Trace (5-5) will travel to Olivesburg in Richland County to face No. 2 seed Ashland Crestview, while in Division VII, Region 26, No. 2 seed Antwerp (10-0) will host No. 15 seed Hardin-Northern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Below is the full list of opening round games, with all games involving area teams in bold<\/strong>. Unless otherwise noted, all first-round games will be played on Friday, October 28, with kickoffs set for 7 p.m. The top eight seeds in each region will serve as hosts for the first-round games. Second-round games will be played on Friday, November 4, at the better seeded team\u2019s venue. Neutral sites will be used beginning in the third round, with Divisions I, II, III and V playing on Friday, November 11, and Divisions IV, VI and VII playing on Saturday, November 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
