{"id":160713,"date":"2022-12-02T04:39:57","date_gmt":"2022-12-02T09:39:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=160713"},"modified":"2022-12-02T04:39:58","modified_gmt":"2022-12-02T09:39:58","slug":"oshp-watching-for-impaired-drivers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2022\/12\/02\/oshp-watching-for-impaired-drivers\/","title":{"rendered":"OSHP watching for impaired drivers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>VW independent staff<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the Ohio State Highway Patrol\u2019s ongoing efforts to make roadways safe, troopers will continue to focus on impaired driving this month and throughout the holiday season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhen you drive impaired, you\u2019re putting the lives of everyone on the road at risk,\u201d Governor Mike DeWine said. \u201cPlan ahead, make responsible decisions, and drive sober when heading out this season.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 2019 there have been 49,785 impaired driving-related crashes on Ohio roadways, killing 2,497 people and injuring 30,280 others. Alcohol and drugs played a role in more than 50 percent of fatal crashes in Ohio.
