{"id":166018,"date":"2023-05-12T03:51:37","date_gmt":"2023-05-12T08:51:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=166018"},"modified":"2023-05-12T03:55:51","modified_gmt":"2023-05-12T08:55:51","slug":"runjumpthrow-returns-in-june","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2023\/05\/12\/runjumpthrow-returns-in-june\/","title":{"rendered":"YWCA&#8217;s RunJumpThrow returns in June"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Submitted information<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The YWCA of Van Wert County is pleased to offer the USA Track &amp; Field RunJumpThrow program again this summer to the Van Wert community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe really enjoy putting this program on for youth in our community and we\u2019re excited to offer it in a different format this summer\u201d stated Betsy Hamman, YWCA Director of Youth Development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to partial funding by the United Way of Van Wert County, the YWCA is able to offer RunJumpThrow at no cost to local youth in Van Wert County ages 6-12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"550\" height=\"333\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/RJT-22-pic.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-166019\"\/><figcaption>This year&#8217;s YWCA RunJumpThrow event will be held on Saturday, June 24, at the Van Wert High School track.<em> Photo submitted<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>This year, the program will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, June 24 at the Van Wert High School track. Registration forms can be found on the YWCA website, YWCA Events &#8211; YWCA Van Wert or requested by emailing <a href=\"mailto:bhamman@ywcavanwertcounty.org\">bhamman@ywcavanwertcounty.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2014, USA Track &amp; Field and the Hershey Company created RunJumpThrow, a hands-on learning program designed to get kids excited about physical activity by introducing them to basic running, jumping and throwing skills through track and field.
