Pictured clockwise from top left are Kendra Deehring, Macy Johnson, Sofi Houg and Danesha Branson. <em>Photo submitted<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, Deehring was the anchor of the 4&#215;100 meter relay team (Olivia Vaas, Macy Johnson, Danesha Branson, Deehring) that took first place and set a school record with a time of 50.23 seconds. The same quartet won the 4&#215;200 relay (1.45.24).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other top performances including Deehring (third, 26.59) in the 200 meter dash; Houg, (fourth, 1:00.57, 400 meter dash); Kyra Welch (fourth, 800 meter run, 2:28.83; second, 1600 meter run, 5:20.97), and Mia Rager (fifth, long jump, 15-11.50).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Lady Cougars finished fourth at the two-day meet, held Wednesday and Friday. Ottawa-Glandorf was crowned as the team champion with 127 points, followed by runner-up Celina (89 points), Van Wert (55) and Kenton (47).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shawnee won the boys\u2019 team title (91 points), followed by Ottawa-Glandorf (81) and Bath (62). The Cougars finished seventh (40 points) at the 10-team event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rylan Miller and Owen Scott were Van Wert\u2019s highest placers, along with the 4&#215;400 and 4&#215;800 meter relay teams. Miller was the runner-up in the 800 meter run (2:00.53), while Scott finished second in the 3200 meter run (9:48.99). The 4&#215;400 meter team of Miller, Freddy Behm, Kelby Blythe and Gage Springer was the runner-up (3:31.27), and the 4&#215;800 team (Miller, Drew Laudick, Scott and Springer) also enjoyed a second place finish with a time of 8:14.96.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Springer also placed third in the high jump (5-10) and fourth in the 400 meter run (52.88).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>VW independent sports WAPAKONETA &#8212; It was a record setting league meet for Van Wert\u2019s Kendra Deehring.
