She was hired during Monday night\u2019s special meeting of the Delphos City Schools Board of Education. She\u2019s replacing longtime treasurer Brad Rostorfer, who retiring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"350\" height=\"351\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Laura-Peters-9-1-2022-e1686819282733.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-157533\"\/><figcaption>Vantage Treasurer Laura Peters will leave the career center at the end of this year. <em>VW independent file photo<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI feel like I\u2019m going back home because that\u2019s where I went to school, my husband went to school, my children went to school and that\u2019s where I was born and raised,\u201d Peters said. \u201cI was the assistant treasurer at Delphos for 21 years under Brad. Brad and I started the same year \u2013 he started in March and I started as his assistant in November. I wanted to advance my career and the opportunity came for me to come to Vantage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Peters will stay at Vantage through the end of 2023, then will make the transition to Delphos on January 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe board will have plenty of time to find a replacement and for me to work with whoever it may be,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019ll have some days when I can work with Brad and we\u2019ll work out those details as we figure out who\u2019s going to take my seat here.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even though it\u2019s a homecoming, Peters admitted it was a difficult decision and she praised the Vantage board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis board is phenomenal,\u201d Peters stated. \u201cThey\u2019re here for the right reasons \u2013 they make their decisions based on what\u2019s best for the students and they\u2019ve always been very supportive of the administration here and letting us do jobs and make sure we make the right decisions. They are very easy to work with.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>The Vantage board is expected to accept Peters\u2019 resignation at the next meeting, scheduled for June 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During Monday\u2019s special meeting, the board also agreed to hire Jeff Hobbs as interim superintendent.
