{"id":169842,"date":"2023-09-06T03:47:55","date_gmt":"2023-09-06T08:47:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=169842"},"modified":"2023-09-07T03:44:38","modified_gmt":"2023-09-07T08:44:38","slug":"country-music-star-raelynn-ready-to-perform-in-van-wert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2023\/09\/06\/country-music-star-raelynn-ready-to-perform-in-van-wert\/","title":{"rendered":"Country star RaeLynn to perform in VW"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>SCOTT TRUXELL\/<\/strong><em>independent editor<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The list of awards, accolades and achievements is more than impressive \u2013 a two-time ACM \u201cNew Female Vocalist\u201d nominee, successful independent artist status, gold and platinum status with three singles, and 2.5 million followers across her online and social media platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She\u2019s accomplished those feats and many more in a relatively short amount of time and now, country music star Racheal Lynn Woodward, better known as RaeLynn to her fans, will bring her considerable talent to Van Wert and the Niswonger Performing Arts Center as the Niswonger \u201ckickoff to fall\u201d at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, September 23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"350\" height=\"319\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/RaeLynn-9-5-2023-e1694076209705.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-169844\"\/><figcaption>RaeLynn will take fans on a journey of her music on Saturday, September 23, at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center. <em>Photo submitted<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Social media is a prominent part of life for many people and that&#8217;s especially so for the 29-year-old singer-songwriter, who hails from Baytown, Texas. During a recent telephone interview, she touched on that and other important aspects of her burgeoning career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHonestly it\u2019s been a really big piece of my career because it\u2019s a way for me to have direct access to my fans,\u201d she said of her online presence. \u201cBack in the day you had to play hundreds and hundreds of bars and venues to be able to get seen. You still have to do that but now you have a tool that gives us direct access to the fans and gives a platform for fans to really dive into your music and it\u2019s really cool.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The social media presence has been a big factor in RaeLynn\u2019s ascent to gold (Love Triangle, Lonely Call) and platinum (God Made Girls), a status she dreamed of during her early days in the music scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt still feel surreal to me,\u201d she explained. \u201cI think we all hope to hit that level of success\u2026we all view success in different ways but to me, success means doing what I love and doing it for a living. When you do reach a status like that it\u2019s like a \u2018cherry on top.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While country music is the bread-and-butter for RaeLynn, she\u2019s found the time to branch out. She\u2019s written a children\u2019s book \u2013 \u201cRaisin\u2019 Me a Country Girl\u201d \u2013 and made her acting debut in the Hallmark Channel\u2019s \u201cA Nashville Christmas Carol.\u201d She has prior television experience, having been a contestant on season two of the hit show \u201cThe Voice.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>With such a busy workload, which also includes touring and being a mother to two-year-old Daisy Rae and wife to Joshua Davis, RaeLynn admitted there\u2019s no place like home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI really do cherish being at home and I try not to plan too much, especially being on the road,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m a mom so I have to prioritize my life and I bring my daughter out as much as I can on the road but sometimes it doesn\u2019t work. If I\u2019m on the road for a weekend and she\u2019s not with me, I take off three days when I get home because being a mom is a priority to me along with my husband and my family.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI couldn\u2019t do what I do on the road if I didn\u2019t recharge the battery,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking ahead to her upcoming performance in Van Wert, RaeLynn said she expects it to be a fun night for all involved, and she\u2019s looking forward to connecting with fans at the 1,200 seat NPAC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe have a fun rowdy show, very country music driven but I have a lot of \u2018heart\u2019 songs and I really like to take my fans through a journey of my songwriting,\u201d she said. \u201cWe\u2019re putting together a really beautiful set that does that and I\u2019m excited for the fans to hear that. I\u2019m looking forward to the venue because I want to see their faces, I want to see their emotions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve always said I don\u2019t care if it\u2019s 20, 50, 500 or 5,000 (seats), I just want the crowd to be in it,\u201d she added. \u201cTo me it\u2019s all about the connection and I love venues where you can feel that, so I\u2019m excited.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tickets to the September 23 show are still available and range from $19-$59.
