{"id":171317,"date":"2023-10-13T03:39:23","date_gmt":"2023-10-13T08:39:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=171317"},"modified":"2023-10-14T00:19:25","modified_gmt":"2023-10-14T05:19:25","slug":"vantage-career-center-hosts-bpa-executive-council-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2023\/10\/13\/vantage-career-center-hosts-bpa-executive-council-meeting\/","title":{"rendered":"Vantage hosts BPA Executive Council meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>VW independent staff\/submitted information<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vantage Career Center recently hosted the Region 16 Business Professionals of America Executive Council meeting, which brought in approximately 40 candidates and voting delegates from school districts across northwest Ohio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vantage had four seniors vying for one of the six executive council positions: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Parliamentarian, and Historian. Each student representative, which included Interactive Media senior and former BPA Secretary Xavier Okuly (Continental), Interactive Media senior and former BPA Treasurer Gage Bolenbaugh (Van Wert), Network Systems seniors Troy Frazier (Crestview) and Nathan Boyer (Antwerp), spoke to the voting delegates in hopes to capture one of the official seats.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the speeches concluded, it was Okuly who was voted President and Boyer who was voted Vice President, a feat not seen at Vantage in recent years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"550\" height=\"384\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/BPA-Candidates-and-Voting-Delgates-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-171320\"\/><figcaption>These seven Vantage Career Center Interactive Media and Network Systems students participated in the recent Region 16 Business Professionals of America Executive Council meeting as both candidates and voting delegates.
