(VWCH photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In keeping with the 18-year tradition, the lighting of the tree in the front of the hospital will mark the beginning of the holiday season. The Tree of Lights is both a remembrance service and a TWIG III fundraiser in support of hospital programs. \u00a0For a contribution, family members placed star ornaments on the tree. Twenty-eight stars were placed on the tree honoring or in memory of loved ones.<\/p>\n<p>The 18th annual event raised $2,000. &#8220;Since inception, this annual event has raised more than $68,900 in contributions for the hospital,&#8221; said TWIG III President Nancy Farmer.<\/p>\n<p>The evening started with a musical selection of Christmas songs from the Lincolnview Chorus. Rev. Gus Cristo-Baker from First United Methodist Church delivered the invocation. Following a check presentation by Farmer to VWCH President\/CEO Mark Minick, Twig III member Lisa Dunn read the names on the stars.
