SANDRA GROOMS\/<\/strong>for The Van Wert independent<\/em><\/p>\n

The Van Wert Cougar girls and boys swim teams were both winners as they hosted the Kenton Wildcats in a dual meet on Tuesday. Van Wert girls scored 99 points to Kenton\u2019s 60 and the boys scored 107 points to Kenton\u2019s 41.<\/p>\n

Van Wert swimmers placing first in individual events included Erin Dingle (200 meter individual medley and 100 meter backstroke), Cody Hanes (200 meter freestyle and 100 meter butterfly), Eric Easley (100 meter breaststroke and 200 meter individual medley), Brittany Jurczyk (200 meter freestyle), Karlyn Koontz (400 meter freestyle), AJ Foster (100 meter freestyle) and Trey Stemen (100 meter backstroke).<\/p>\n

The boys team swept all three relays: 200 medley (Cody Hanes, Trey Stemen, Eric Easley, Matt Cucciarre), 200 freestyle (Cody Hanes, Kase Schalois, AJ Foster, Eric Easley), and 400 freestyle (Trey Stemen, Kase Schalois, AJ Foster, Eric Easley).<\/p>\n

The cougar swimmers return to action Saturday morning when they travel to Napoleon to compete in the Wildcat Invitational.<\/p>\n
