The list includes a pair of Van Wert County organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>About 80 percent of PPEC members round up their electric bill and donate those pennies to this fund, making a huge impact in the co-op\u2019s northwest Ohio and northeast Indiana communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participating members round up their monthly electric bill to the next dollar, with the extra pennies being used to help fund charities and groups in their communities. Each quarter, the funds are dispensed to local causes that applied for funding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"350\" height=\"284\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Humane-Society-7-2022-e1716172657995.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-156392\"\/><figcaption>The Van Wert County Humane Society is one of 15 recipients of PPEC\u2019s latest round of Operation Round Up funds. Groups in both Ohio and Indiana can apply. The average member\u2019s donation is about $6 per year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The most recent donation recipients include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Antwerp Ball Association; $970 to purchase wire for a new court.<\/li><li><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\" alt=\"\">Antwerp Local Schools; $800 to purchase an AED. <\/li><li><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\" alt=\"\">Blessing in a Bag Paulding Exempted Village Schools; $800 to provide food bags for needy students.<\/li><li>Challenged Champions Equestrian Center; $1,500 to fund boarding expenses for horses.<\/li><li>Fort Jennings Fire Department; $2,100 to purchase emergency lighting for a rescue trailer.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Friends of the Paulding County Park District: $700 to provide funding for Port-A-Johns for three parks during the months of May \u2013 October.<\/li><li>Hands of Hope Pregnancy Services: $650 to purchase an online course subscription.<\/li><li><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\" alt=\"\">Miller City Soccer Team: $1,200 to purchase new poles for the field.<\/li><li>Paulding County Opportunity Center; $500 to purchase gym class supplies.<\/li><li>Paulding County Relay for Life\/American Cancer Society; $1,000 to fund a survivor&#8217;s dinner.<\/li><li>Pauling Soil and Water Conservation District; $800 to provide funding for GREEN Day.<\/li><li>Putnam County Special Olympics; $1,000 to fund a new bus.<\/li><li>Van Wert County Humane Society; $500 to provide funding to spay and neuter cats.<\/li><li>Van Wert YMCA; $500 to provide funding for the after-school program.<\/li><li>Woodlan Band Boosters; $800 to purchase uniforms and music.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Organizations can apply for Operation Round Up assistance by contacting Paulding Putnam Electric Co-op\u2019s&nbsp;Marketing and Communications Manager&nbsp;Samantha Kuhn at&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:skuhn@ppec.coop\">skuhn@ppec.coop<\/a>&nbsp;or visiting&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ppec.coop\/operation-round\" target=\"_blank\">www.ppec.coop\/operation-round<\/a>.
