{"id":180369,"date":"2024-06-14T21:01:56","date_gmt":"2024-06-15T02:01:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=180369"},"modified":"2024-06-14T21:01:57","modified_gmt":"2024-06-15T02:01:57","slug":"sheriffs-office-has-purchased-body-cams","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2024\/06\/14\/sheriffs-office-has-purchased-body-cams\/","title":{"rendered":"Sheriff&#8217;s Office has purchased body cams"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>VW independent staff<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Van Wert County Sheriff\u2019s Office will soon join the Van Wert Police Department and the Ohio State Highway Patrol in using body cameras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sheriff Tom Riggenbach said Friday that his office has ordered and received body cameras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are working to get our training set up with the company, then training for employees and anything unknown that we need to work through,\u201d Riggenbach said.&nbsp;\u201cIt will probably be a couple months to get things running.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Van Wert Police Department has been using body cameras and dashboard cameras since early-to-mid April (see story <a href=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2024\/06\/14\/vwpd-now-using-dashboard-cameras-and-body-cameras\/\">here<\/a>).
