(Jan Dunlap\/Van Wert independent)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>CONVOY \u2013 A bad second quarter doomed Crestview\u2019s boys\u2019 basketball team as Lima Central Catholic won its Northwest Conference match-up with the Knights, 58-44.<\/p>\n<p>Both Crestview and the Thunderbirds came out strong as LCC led by a basket, 15-13, at the end of the first period. But the Knights\u2019 offense fell apart in the second quarter, allowing LCC to outscore them 12-1 and put together a 13-point lead, 27-14, at the half.<\/p>\n<p>Both teams played mostly even in the second half, with Crestview scoring 30 points in the quarter and the T-Birds putting in 31 counters in the half.<\/p>\n<p>Tyler O\u2019Connor was the big gun for LCC, scoring 24 points, while John Kidd and Bruce Hodges each added 9 points for the T-Birds. For Crestview, Nick Adam was held to just 4 points, while Cam Etzler led with 15 points and Damian Helm added 9 points for the Knights.<\/p>\n<p>It was the first loss of the year for Crestview, which is now 5-1 overall and 1-1 in NWC play.
