Rita M. Kaufman, 86, of Paulding, died Sunday, January 1, 2012, at the Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.<\/p>\n
She was born October 4, 1925, in Putnam County, the daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth (Meyer) Niese. On August 3, 1946, she married Daniel J. Kaufman, who preceded her in death on March 17, 1976.<\/p>\n
Survivors include five daughters, Linda (David) Begley of Payne, Konnie Gerber, Jane (Steve) Sprow and Jackie (Tom) Boyd, all of Paulding, and Sue (Dave) Vogel of Lake Cormorant, Miss.; a son, Daniel (Sherry) Kaufman of Paulding; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.<\/p>\n
Four brothers and a sister also preceded her in death.<\/p>\n
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 5, at Divine Mercy Catholic Parish in Paulding. Burial will be in Cooper-Haines Cemetery in Paulding.<\/strong><\/p>\n Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 4, at Den Herder Funeral Home in Paulding, where a Rosary service will be held at 7:30 that evening, and an hour prior to services Thursday at the church.<\/strong><\/p>\n Preferred memorials: Masses, Community Health Professionals-Hospice or a charity of donor\u2019s choice.<\/p>\n
