{"id":18522,"date":"2012-01-04T02:15:05","date_gmt":"2012-01-04T07:15:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/?p=18522"},"modified":"2012-01-04T02:15:05","modified_gmt":"2012-01-04T07:15:05","slug":"jenna-bush-to-speak-at-npac","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2012\/01\/04\/jenna-bush-to-speak-at-npac\/","title":{"rendered":"Jenna Bush to speak at NPAC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Of all the interesting, exciting and phenomenal performers we have had the pleasure to bring to Van Wert at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center, we are about to bring one of the most prized individuals on January 24.\u00a0Jenna Bush Hager, twin daughter of former President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush, will be making a very special appearance on the Central Insurance Stage, sharing her passion for \u201cMaking a Difference: How the Power of Compassion Changes Lives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Just recently turning 30, Jenna has made her mark in the world in a short amount of time.\u00a0 Although she and her twin sister, Barbara, were largely kept out of the media eye most of their dad\u2019s Presidential terms, she has made quite an impact after graduating from the University of Texas (I\u2019m sure making her dad proud!) with a degree in English (I\u2019m sure making her mother proud!).<\/p>\n<p>After college, she traveled to Latin America as an intern with UNICEF and was inspired to write a book with her mother entitled <em>Ana\u2019s Story: A Journey of Hope<\/em>, a <em>New York Times<\/em> bestseller based on the life of a 17-year-old single mother living with HIV and determined to shield her child from the abuse and neglect that riddled her own childhood.\u00a0 Since then, she has become a spokesperson and is currently the chair of UNICEF\u2019s Next Generation, an initiative dedicated to reducing the number of preventable childhood deaths around the world.<\/p>\n<p>She will be speaking to our audience at the NPAC about how the power of compassion changes lives.\u00a0She shares positive uplifting messages of regular people doing extraordinary things.\u00a0She is also passionate about literacy (her mother\u2019s key platform as First Lady), education and improving inner-city schools, and was herself a school teacher in Baltimore, Md.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to teaching, speaking, chairing UNICEF and authoring books, she can also be seen on NBC\u2019s \u201cToday\u201d show quite often as a correspondent where she focuses on telling stories of wonderful people doing great things across America.\u00a0 I am not sure how she has the time to travel to Van Wert to share with all of us about her experiences, but I\u2019m sure glad she is.\u00a0 Don\u2019t delay in getting your tickets for this outstanding evening brought to you by the NPAC Lecture\/Speaker Series Committee.<\/p>\n<p>After speaking to us, she will take questions and answers from the floor.\u00a0 With her vast background and history of growing up as a child of a U.S. President and the grandchild of another U.S. President, in addition to her many experiences in a short lifetime, I think January 24 could be one of the most intriguing and informative nights ever at the Niswonger PAC.<\/p>\n<p>Call the box office now at 419.238.NPAC (6722) to reserve your seat for this very special event.\u00a0 Encourage your friends, your civic groups, church circles or whatever you may be involved in to attend.\u00a0 Out of town friends can purchase tickets on-line at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.npacvw.org\/\">www.npacvw.org<\/a>. \u00a0I am confident you will be inspired and informed in a very memorable way.\u00a0 Let\u2019s show our appreciation to Mrs. Hagar for coming to Van Wert on January 24 at 7:30 p.m. with a packed house!<\/p>\n<p>FIN\u00c9.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Of all the interesting, exciting and phenomenal performers we have had the pleasure to bring to Van Wert at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center, we are about to bring one of the most prized individuals on January 24.\u00a0Jenna Bush Hager, twin daughter of former President George W.
