Appreciation Act from the 135<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0General Assembly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This legislation will codify the following important agriculture days in state law:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"210\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Roy-Klopfenstein-1-23-2023.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-162418\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Roy Klopfenstein<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>FFA Week, the last full week of February<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4-H Week, the week ending in the second Saturday of March<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ohio Soil Health Week, the second full week of November<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stormwater Awareness Week, the first full week of October<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Agriculture Day, March 21<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Farmer\u2019s Day, October 12<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThese commemorative days will serve as a way to teach the next generation the importance of agriculture and encourage them to pursue careers in one of Ohio\u2019s largest industries,\u201d Klopfenstein said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am excited to honor and recognize Ohio\u2019s Agriculture Industry on these special days and hope Ohioans will appreciate the food fiber and fuel produced by farmers every day,\u201d Peterson said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Agriculture is Ohio\u2019s number one industry, having an economic impact of more than $100 billion and employing one out seven Ohioans. Additionally, Ohio is home to more than 75,000 farms, 90 percent of which are family owned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Klopfenstein represents Ohio\u2019s 82<sup>nd<\/sup>&nbsp;District, which includes all of Van Wert, Paulding, and Putnam counties and the southern portion of Defiance County.
