{"id":190022,"date":"2025-02-24T21:59:05","date_gmt":"2025-02-25T02:59:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=190022"},"modified":"2025-02-24T21:59:10","modified_gmt":"2025-02-25T02:59:10","slug":"kindergarten-registration-to-be-held","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2025\/02\/24\/kindergarten-registration-to-be-held\/","title":{"rendered":"Kindergarten registration to be held"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Submitted information<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Van Wert City Schools will hold kindergarten registration for the 2025-2026 school year from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. between Monday, March 24, and Friday, April 4, at the Van Wert Early Childhood Center, 1120 Buckeye Drive.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/VWCS_circle_full-color_WHITE-BACKGROUND.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-152087\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Children must be age five on or before August 1, 2025, in order to enroll in kindergarten. Kindergarten registration forms can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/ecc.vwcs.net\/kindergartenregistration\">here<\/a> or the Early Childhood Center\u2019s website or at <a href=\"https:\/\/vwcs.net\">vwcs.net<\/a> under the Parents tab \u2013 Forms and Registration. Forms can be downloaded and filled out prior to registration to help expedite the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parents who live outside the Van Wert City Schools district but want their child to attend the Van Wert Early Childhood Center should also register at the ECC. Open enrollment spaces can be limited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New students will need to present the following documents at the time of registration:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Copy of birth certificate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Copy of immunization records<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Copy of custody papers (if applicable)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof of residency (in the Van Wert City School District) for parent or legal guardian<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>No student shall be admitted to first grade who has not successfully completed kindergarten.
