{"id":190864,"date":"2025-03-18T20:57:51","date_gmt":"2025-03-19T01:57:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=190864"},"modified":"2025-03-18T20:57:52","modified_gmt":"2025-03-19T01:57:52","slug":"paulding-man-sentenced-to-prison","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2025\/03\/18\/paulding-man-sentenced-to-prison\/","title":{"rendered":"Paulding man sentenced to prison"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>VW independent staff\/submitted information<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PAULDING &#8212; A Paulding County man who sexually abused a minor was sentenced to 34 months in prison on Tuesday, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost and Paulding County Sheriff Jason Landers announced.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"194\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/paulding-co-froelich-4_crop-copy.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-190866\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Daniel Froelich<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Daniel Froelich, 56, of Cecil, was sentenced in Paulding County Common Pleas Court after pleading guilty to two counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, a fourth-degree felony. Froelich will be required to register as a Tier II sex offender.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur community is safer with this predator locked up,\u201d Yost said. \u201cI\u2019m grateful for the work done by Sheriff Lander\u2019s team and our prosecutors to reach a conclusion in this case \u2013 I pray that this victim is given relief and the opportunity to heal.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An investigation by the Paulding County Sheriff\u2019s Office found that Froelich had sexual conduct with a minor under the age of 13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur team did a fine job investigating this case,\u201d Sheriff Landers said. \u201cThere were a lot of twists and turns along the way, but at the conclusion of sentencing, we were hopeful that Dan was held accountable for his actions by the court.
