{"id":192941,"date":"2025-05-18T20:39:29","date_gmt":"2025-05-19T01:39:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=192941"},"modified":"2025-05-19T20:57:45","modified_gmt":"2025-05-20T01:57:45","slug":"lincolnview-high-school-says-goodbye-to-72-seniors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2025\/05\/18\/lincolnview-high-school-says-goodbye-to-72-seniors\/","title":{"rendered":"Lincolnview HS graduates 72 seniors"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>SCOTT TRUXELL\/<\/strong><em>independent editor<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Judging by its collective resume, the Lincolnview High School Class of 2025 has already enjoyed many significant accomplishments, all while preparing for the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of the 72 seniors who received diplomas at the school\u2019s 65<sup>th<\/sup> annual commencement service on Sunday, 44 plan on pursuing higher education, 21 will go directly to the workforce, four are entering the military and four others are undecided.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"350\" height=\"331\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Lincolnview-graduation-2025-e1747706242756.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-192943\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Lincolnview seniors file into Sunday&#8217;s graduation ceremony. <em>Scott Truxell\/Van Wert independent<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Those who spoke at Sunday\u2019s gathering described the Class of 2025 as one that has enjoyed many good memories and one that is ready to answer new challenges that lie ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cToday we stand together, ready to toss our caps in the air and step into the future,\u201d Class President Ella Davis said to graduates and to those in attedance. \u201cThis class is built differently \u2013 we\u2019re a group of dreamers, doers and difference makers. Whether you\u2019re headed to college, the workforce, the military or an entirely different adventure, carry with you the lessons you\u2019ve learned, not just from tests, but from each other. This is the last time we will be together like this, as classmates, as teammates, as best friends\u2026the halls we\u2019ve walked, the classrooms we\u2019ve sat in and the moments we\u2019ve shared, it\u2019s shaped us and made us who we are today and while we may be headed in different directions, the bonds we\u2019ve built will always remain the same.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Valedictorian Lindsey Hatcher and Salutatorian Trace Klausing reflected on the past and looked ahead and spoke of future opportunities, while sharing what has made the entire graduating class special.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am truly proud to stand here and call myself a Lincolnview alumni,\u201d Klausing told his fellow graduates. \u201cOne thing I\u2019ll remember about my classmates is their competitiveness. Our class has always been so competitive when it comes to academics and athletics.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe built memories that will last a lifetime,\u201d Hatcher said. \u201cWe are a class of high achievement in many areas, but I want to recognize our class for something else \u2013 the spirit of our class and how we always reach out to those in need. That is our greatest achievement.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>High School Principal Brad Mendenhall said noted the Class of 2025 received over $300,000 in grants and scholarships, and he said graduation day marks an important milestone for members of the Class of 2025. He also emphasized the importance of community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFor 13 years, Lincolnview has been your community,\u201d he stated. \u201cCommunity is not just a place, it\u2019s a feeling, it\u2019s a network of support and a source of strength. It is where you find your sense of belonging and purpose. Wherever your next community might be, being involved in the community you live in is essential.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEach of you have unique talents and perspectives that you contribute to the fabric of your surroundings,\u201d he continued. \u201cYour actions can inspire change and foster connection. Remember \u2013 true impact begins with engagement and serving other people. I urge you to show up, not just physically but emotionally and mentally, be present, listen to others and be willing to collaborate.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Superintendent Jeff Snyder shared brief remarks as well, and Lincolnview Board of&nbsp; Education President Michelle Gorman, Vice-President Mark Zielke and board members Ashley Breese, Eric Germann and Lori Snyder passed out diplomas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The class motto was \u201cLife is always changing, so make the best of it.\u201d The class color was sage green and the class flower was the hibiscus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Four other area graduation ceremonies were held over the weekend.
