{"id":195131,"date":"2025-07-23T20:33:24","date_gmt":"2025-07-24T01:33:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=195131"},"modified":"2025-07-23T20:33:25","modified_gmt":"2025-07-24T01:33:25","slug":"ywca-again-offering-runjumpthrow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2025\/07\/23\/ywca-again-offering-runjumpthrow\/","title":{"rendered":"YWCA again offering RunJumpThrow"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Submitted information<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The YWCA of Van Wert County is excited to once again offer the USA Track &amp; Field \u201cRunJumpThrow\u201d program to the Van Wert community this summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe really enjoy putting this program on for youth in our area, and we\u2019re excited to offer it again this year,\u201d said Betsy Hamman, YWCA Director of Youth Development.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"200\" height=\"97\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/YWCA-6-2022-e1705519847772.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-155420\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>RunJumpThrow is a free program open to all Van Wert County youth ages 5\u201312. This year\u2019s event will take place on Thursday, August 14, from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Van Wert High School track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the program, beginning at 6:30 p.m., the Van Wert High School cross country team will host a series of community races, including an Alumni Mile, Elementary Mile, Middle School Mile, and High School Mile. Participants and their families are invited to stay and enjoy these additional events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Registration is required and can be completed online <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/1AC-Z97OObmxnmRzUiv5nhkMSd0S8pspIGCB2HPTR0LY\/edit\">here<\/a>. Register by August 1 to receive a free event t-shirt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Launched in 2014 by USA Track &amp; Field and The Hershey Company, RunJumpThrow is a hands-on learning program designed to get kids moving by teaching fundamental running, jumping, and throwing skills through track and field activities.
