{"id":202282,"date":"2026-02-03T21:39:13","date_gmt":"2026-02-04T02:39:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=202282"},"modified":"2026-02-03T21:39:14","modified_gmt":"2026-02-04T02:39:14","slug":"delphos-residents-should-conserve-water","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2026\/02\/03\/delphos-residents-should-conserve-water\/","title":{"rendered":"Delphos residents should conserve water"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>VW independent staff<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DELPHOS &#8212; Delphos officials are asking residents to conserve water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Safety-Service Director Adam Haunhorst said due to the extended drought throughout the region, the city\u2019s water supply has been drawn down to 50 percent of usable capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are asking that the citizens of Delphos help to conserve water during this period to help prolong the supply of available water until normal weather conditions return,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Examples of conservation include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Refrain from washing cars<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shorten showers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Refrain from running dishwashers or washing machines until full<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do not run taps constantly while washing dishes or brushing teeth<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fix any known water leaks and be vigilant for water leaks developing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Haunhorst also said if conditions don\u2019t improve, the city may need to implement Phase II drought protocol.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>VW independent staff DELPHOS &#8212; Delphos officials are asking residents to conserve water.
