Main Street in Van Wert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tickets cost $3 each, the starting fare for one-way rides within Van Wert.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fares may increase depending on travel distance throughout Van Wert County.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The VWAEDC office accepts cash only.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>After purchasing tickets, riders will:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Call the RTA at 419.222.2782 (press 0 for a dispatcher) or use the mobile app to schedule a ride.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create a personal rider profile using their name, address, and phone number.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide the ticket(s) to the driver when picked up.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Once a profile is created, future rides can be scheduled more quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis initative strengthens our community\u2019s infrastructure by making transportation more accessible,\u201d said VWAEDC Executive Director Brent Stevens. \u201cReliable transportation helps residents reach jobs, training, and essential services while supporting local employers and workforce growth.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTransportation should never be a barrier to opportunity,\u201d said Lauren Buchanan, Workforce Development Manager at VWAEDC. \u201cBy offering a trusted, local place to purchase transit tickets, we are improving access to employment and services while strengthening our workforce and community.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tickets may be purchased at the Van Wert Area Economic Development Corporation office, 140 E. Main St., Van Wert, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
