Fifteen hours of training is required.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/CHP-Hospice-logo.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-20384\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/CHP-Hospice-logo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"188\" \/><\/a>Training includes information about caring for patients and families who are receiving hospice care. Volunteers give emotional support and care to patients and families at home, in extended care facilities and at the inpatient hospice center.<\/p>\n<p>They may spend time reading with patients, visiting and listening. Volunteers are not involved with lifting or giving medications.<\/p>\n<p>Sessions may be rescheduled if attendance falls below two attendees.
