{"id":203869,"date":"2026-03-16T20:37:41","date_gmt":"2026-03-17T01:37:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=203869"},"modified":"2026-03-16T20:37:45","modified_gmt":"2026-03-17T01:37:45","slug":"howell-scholarship-seeking-applications","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2026\/03\/16\/howell-scholarship-seeking-applications\/","title":{"rendered":"Howell Scholarship seeking applications"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Submitted information<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications are now being accepted for the Howell Memorial&nbsp;Scholarship&nbsp;Program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Howell Memorial\u00a0Scholarship\u00a0Program will award two separate\u00a0scholarships of $1,000 each to one boy in memory of James Howell and one girl in memory of Kathleen Davis.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Scholarship-QR-Code.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-203871\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>The purpose is to provide a one-time assistance to two students who have displayed excellence in the classroom and in extracurricular activities (sports, performing arts, community projects, etc.).\u00a0Scholarship\u00a0money may be applied to the cost of tuition, room\/board or books.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To apply, a student must be a senior currently enrolled at a school in one of the following counties: Allen, Auglaize, Hancock, Mercer, Hardin, Putnam or Van Wert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All applications submitted before the deadline will be considered upon review of grades, extracurricular activities and references. Completed forms need to be submitted by Friday, April 17.
