Of course, the top question was \u201cwho was it?\u201d It\u2019s entirely possible we\u2019ll never know. It is known that it\u2019s the largest lottery jackpot ever won in Van Wert and Van Wert County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As first reported by <em>the VW independent<\/em>, the winning ticket for Tuesday\u2019s drawing was purchased at Tyler\u2019s Short Stop on E. Main St. The winner used the auto-pick option to select the nubmers. The winning numbers were 4-11-18-38 and 50, and the Mega Ball was 24.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"550\" height=\"352\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Mega-Millions-winner-3-2026.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-203927\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">A winning $60 million Mega Millions ticket was sold at Tyler\u2019s Short Stop. After taxes, the winner would take home approximately $1 million annually for 30 years or a one-time lump sum payment of $13.6 million. The winner also has the option of revealing themselves through the Ohio Lottery Commission or claiming the money and staying anonymous through a blind or specialized trust.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tyler\u2019s Short Stop isn\u2019t coming away empty-handed. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mega Millions can be played in 45 states plus the District of Columbia and the U. S. Virgin Islands.
