{"id":20706,"date":"2012-02-16T04:04:04","date_gmt":"2012-02-16T09:04:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/?p=20706"},"modified":"2012-02-16T04:04:04","modified_gmt":"2012-02-16T09:04:04","slug":"bashore-named-to-omea-all-state-choir","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2012\/02\/16\/bashore-named-to-omea-all-state-choir\/","title":{"rendered":"Bashore named to OMEA All State Choir"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Daniel Bashore, the son of Gregg and Sandy Bashore, will be performing this Friday in Columbus as a member of the Ohio Music Education Association\u2019s All State Choir.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_20707\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-20707\" style=\"width: 125px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/Bashore-Daniel-2-2012.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-20707 \" style=\"border: 1px solid black\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/Bashore-Daniel-2-2012.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"125\" height=\"203\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-20707\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Daniel Bashore<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>There were close to 1,000 applicants for the choir and the selection process was very competitive. Bashore is a senior at Van Wert High School and has been very active in the music and drama department.\u00a0 He has been selected to participate in the OMEA District 3 Honors Choir for four years, and has participated in Solo &amp; Ensemble contests both as a vocalist and instrumentalist, receiving numerous superior ratings.<\/p>\n<p>The VWHS senior has also performed many roles in school musicals. This spring he will be \u201cthe Beast\u201d in the school\u2019s performance of <em>Beauty and the Beast<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Outside of school, Bashore has participated in the 9\/11 Tribute Men\u2019s Chorus, in community performances of Handel\u2019s <em>Messiah<\/em> two years, and has also performed in the Young Artists Recital.<\/p>\n<p>He plans to attend Miami University majoring in vocal music education.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Daniel Bashore, the son of Gregg and Sandy Bashore, will be performing this Friday in Columbus as a member of the Ohio Music Education Association\u2019s All State Choir.
