{"id":207615,"date":"2026-07-06T20:37:10","date_gmt":"2026-07-07T01:37:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=207615"},"modified":"2026-07-06T20:38:12","modified_gmt":"2026-07-07T01:38:12","slug":"western-buckeye-esc-awarded-grant-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2026\/07\/06\/western-buckeye-esc-awarded-grant-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Western Buckeye ESC awarded grant"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>VW independent staff\/submitted information<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Western Buckeye Educational Service Center has been awarded a $15,000 grant from the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation to support the inaugural NWOH TEACH for the Future Conference, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, August 4, at Vantage Career Center in Van Wert.<br>&nbsp;<br>The conference will bring together educators, administrators, and industry leaders from across Northwest Ohio to explore how emerging technologies can enhance teaching, learning, and student success while maintaining a human-centered approach to education.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/WBESC_LOGO_color.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-207617\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/WBESC_LOGO_color.jpg 200w, https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/WBESC_LOGO_color-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Registration for the conference is completely free, thanks to the support of the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation and community partners. It\u2019s open to all&nbsp;Western Buckeye ESC and Vantage Career Center teachers and administrators, as well as Vantage affiliate schools \u2013 Antwerp, Continental, Crestview, Delphos Jefferson, Delphos St. Johns, Fort Jennings, Kalida, Lincolnview, Ottoville, Parkway, Paulding, Van Wert, and Wayne Trace Schools. Educational vendors will provide opportunities to win back to school supplies and program licenses.&nbsp;This year&#8217;s conference also features the #NWOHTeach26 School Rivalry Learning Showcase, a friendly competition encouraging educators to represent their school while demonstrating what they learned during the conference.&nbsp;The winning school will receive a back-to-school lunch delivered to their building on the first day of school, celebrating both professional learning and school pride.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We are incredibly grateful to the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation for investing in the educators of Northwest Ohio,&#8221; said Missy McClurg, Superintendent of Western Buckeye Educational Service Center. &#8220;Technology is rapidly transforming every industry and our goal is to ensure teachers and school leaders have the knowledge, tools, and confidence to implement and use responsibly while keeping relationships and student learning at the center of everything they do.
