According to a report released by the Van Wert Police Department late Tuesday morning, the accident occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. Sunday when an westbound car driven by Doris D. Jones, 74, of Lima went off Lincoln Highway and hit a tree near the intersection of Stripe Road. Emergency responders found Jones unconscious and non-responsive and lifesaving measures were performed by Van Wert EMS.
