Other contracts given the green light were for John Kerner, OBI instructor; Kathryn Wortman, part-time cook; Sharon Brincefield, substitute bus driver, and Theresa Anderson, junior high\/high school assistant band director.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"350\" height=\"235\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Lincolnview-softball-7-2026-e1784768592112.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-208155\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Some members of the Division VI state semifinal Lincolnview softball team were at Wednesday&#8217;s school board meeting. <em>Lincolnview photo<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Three resignations were accepted, including Kasey Knippen, fifth grade teacher; Megan Wollenhaupt, junior high\/high school guidance secretary, and Paige Cook, part-time cook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some housekeeping items were approved for the 2026-2027 school year, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cafeteria prices and latchkey fees<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The list of open enrollment students for the upcoming school year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An agreement with Westwood Behavorial Services to provide on-site mental health services to students from August to May of next year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An agreement with the Western Buckeye Educational Service Center.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The transfer of $20,000 from the general fund to the athletic fund.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Renewed membership in the Ohio Coalition for Equity and Adequacy of School Funding.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Renewed membership in the Northwestern Ohio Educational Research Council Inc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An agreement for the eduction option program administered by the Wood County Educational Service Center for the Wood County Juvenile Detention Center, the Juvenile Residential Center of Northwest Ohio and the Wood County Academy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>The board also accepted a $6,962 donation from the United Way of Van Wert County for the Lincolnview Latchkey program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The board heard from members of the NWC champion varsity softball team. Along with another conference title, the team rolled to sectional, district and regional championships and played in the Division VI state semifinals. A pair of state track athletes also talked to the board about their experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The district\u2019s annual open house will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. Monday, August 17. The first day of school for students in grades 1-12 will be Wednesday, August 19.
