The iconic downtown stadium has gone through four phases of renovations, inside and out.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"550\" height=\"366\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Eggerss-Stadium-9-13-2024-e1726453247956.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-183617\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">A re-dedication ceremony will be held prior to kickoff of the September 18 game vs. Defiance. <em>Bob Barnes photo<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>For nine decades, Eggerss Stadium has been an important part of Van Wert and Cougar football. The recent renovation was made possible through passage of a 20-year, 1.15 mill bond issue in 2022, along with the generosity and support of individuals, families, businesses, and organizations throughout the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The re-dedication will honor the stadium\u2019s history, recognize those who helped make the renovation possible, and celebrate its future.
