{"id":21009,"date":"2012-02-23T01:11:36","date_gmt":"2012-02-23T06:11:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/?p=21009"},"modified":"2012-02-23T01:48:13","modified_gmt":"2012-02-23T06:48:13","slug":"gasoline-prices-likely-to-take-big-upswing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2012\/02\/23\/gasoline-prices-likely-to-take-big-upswing\/","title":{"rendered":"Gasoline prices likely to take big upswing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CHICAGO, Ill. &#8212; Motorists should be aware of the likelihood of a sharp rise in gasoline prices in the next few days and through the weekend in Ohio.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"MGN Online graphic\" rel=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/Gas-price-artwork-2-22-2012.jpg\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/Gas-price-artwork-2-22-2012.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-21010\" style=\"border: 1px solid black\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/Gas-price-artwork-2-22-2012.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>&#8220;I expect stations to increase prices as much as 5-20 cents per gallon by the conclusion of the weekend with some stations starting to raise prices immediately,&#8221; says Patrick DeHaan, <a href=\"http:\/\/GasBuddy.com\/\">GasBuddy.com<\/a> senior petroleum analyst.<\/p>\n<p>DeHaan warns that a refinery fire in Washington state is boosting prices significantly throughout the entire West Coast region, and rising spot prices in Great Lakes area is boosting prices 30-45 cents per gallon Wednesday in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky.
