Locally, the southwest portion of Van Wert County, including Wren and Willshire have been affected by flooding, along with much of neighboring Mercer County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to Van Wert, Mercer and Vinton counties, 16 other counties are included in the state of emergency \u2013 Athens, Clermont, Gallia, Greene, Highland, Jackson, Logan, Meigs, Montgomery, Morgan, Muskingum, Perry, Pickaway, Pike, Preble, and Ross.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"550\" height=\"367\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Willshire-flooding-9-2026.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-210440\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The Willshire area has been affected by flooding, along with Wren.
