Prices in Ohio are 1.2 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and stand 93.5 cents per gallon higher than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has decreased 14.2 cents compared to a week ago and stands at $6.307 per gallon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to GasBuddy price reports, the cheapest station in Ohio was priced at $3.17 per gallon on Sunday while the most expensive was $6.19 per gallon, a difference of $3.02 per gallon. <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"350\" height=\"382\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Gasoline-prices-feature-story-5-2011-e1788227625930.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8198\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Once Ohio&#8217;s gas tax suspension took effect, motorists flocked to the pumps.<em> VW independent file photo<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>In Van Wert, prices at the majority of gas stations tumbled to $3.41 per gallon for self-serve regular on Sunday and Monday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The national average price of gasoline has fallen 12.5 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $4.30 per gallon on Monday. The national average is up 19.3 cents per gallon from a month ago and stands $1.22 per gallon higher than a year ago, according to GasBuddy data compiled from more than 11 million weekly price reports covering over 150,000 gas stations across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Average gasoline prices fell in 48 states over the last week, with diesel declining in 48 states as well, as a broad-based retreat brought relief to motorists across much of the country,&#8221; said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. &#8220;The largest declines were seen in Georgia and Ohio, where recently enacted fuel tax cuts amplified the drop, while price-cycling Florida and much of the midwest also joined the broader downward trend.
