{"id":211162,"date":"2026-10-13T20:42:51","date_gmt":"2026-10-14T01:42:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=211162"},"modified":"2026-10-13T20:42:53","modified_gmt":"2026-10-14T01:42:53","slug":"fleming-gives-update-on-road-projects-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2026\/10\/13\/fleming-gives-update-on-road-projects-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Fleming gives update on road projects"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>VW independent staff<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Work is starting on the Blaine St. sanitary sewer project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During Monday night\u2019s Van Wert City Council meeting, Safety-Service Director Jay Fleming said crews were out on Monday sawing the street and preparing for trench work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s going to be an area to avoid, unless you live down there,\u201d Fleming said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fleming said the work should take approximately four months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also noted work is underway to raise several manholes along Washington St. Fleming said it will be night work in hopes of a lesser impact on traffic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During his report, Fleming also thanked all first responders who responded to a standoff on Burt St. last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt was a successful ending to a potentially bad situation so we thank them for their efforts,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>VW independent staff Work is starting on the Blaine St. sanitary sewer project.
