{"id":21197,"date":"2012-02-29T04:49:05","date_gmt":"2012-02-29T09:49:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/?p=21197"},"modified":"2012-02-29T04:49:05","modified_gmt":"2012-02-29T09:49:05","slug":"broadway-comes-to-the-npac","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2012\/02\/29\/broadway-comes-to-the-npac\/","title":{"rendered":"Broadway comes to the NPAC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This Saturday, one of the biggest shows to ever come to the NPAC will be presented: <em>Fiddler on the Roof<\/em>.\u00a0 I imagine many people have seen this blockbuster and classic Broadway show, but you may not have seen it like this.\u00a0 Although this production has been touring for some time, it will be the last time to tour at this magnitude of a production.\u00a0 I was told in New York this January that it will be going on tour next year as a downsized production.\u00a0 A new company will be taking the show from four semi-trucks down to one.\u00a0 The production you can see in Van Wert this Saturday is four full semi-trucks of production.\u00a0As a matter of fact, this production is so large, we need to bring in a generator in to help power everything.<\/p>\n<p>The only other show of this magnitude we have ever presented at the NPAC is <em>Annie<\/em> about three years ago in 2009.\u00a0We sold one show out and so have now scheduled two performances of <em>Fiddler on the Roof<\/em>.\u00a0 Now that we have two shows, there are some tickets remaining for each show, although they may be getting picked over pretty well.\u00a0 Almost every seat is a good one, so you might even be able to come the day of and get a ticket if you decide at the last moment to come.\u00a0 Live Broadway musicals in Van Wert on Saturday, \u201cWhoduh ever thunk it?\u201d!<\/p>\n<p>Most are familiar with the story of <em>Fiddler on the Roof<\/em>, but it\u2019s like a real good movie; you forget much of the detail and enjoy it even more the second and third time around.\u00a0 And we all know that live is much better than video.
