{"id":22455,"date":"2012-03-28T05:45:06","date_gmt":"2012-03-28T10:45:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/?p=22455"},"modified":"2012-03-28T05:57:46","modified_gmt":"2012-03-28T10:57:46","slug":"ymca-hosting-spring-fitness-5k-event","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2012\/03\/28\/ymca-hosting-spring-fitness-5k-event\/","title":{"rendered":"YMCA hosting Spring Fitness 5K event"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The YMCA of Van Wert County will be holding its Spring Fitness 5K Run\/Walk on Saturday, April 21, at YMCA Camp Clay, 9196 Liberty Union Road in Van Wert.\u00a0 The run\/walk will begin its 3.1-mile loop at 8:30 a.m. Course updates, including mile markers and a finish timer will still be in place, as well as an addition of cash prizes for overall male and female winners, thanks to a sponsorship by Quick Lane Tire and Auto Center.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are excited to be able to offer prize money to the top two runners in the male and female divisions.\u00a0 Top runner in each division will receive $100, second place will receive $50,\u201d stated Julie Schaufelberger, Y wellness director.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_22456\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-22456\" style=\"width: 330px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/Quick-Lane-sponsors-YM-5K-run-3-2012.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-22456 \" style=\"border: 1px solid black\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/Quick-Lane-sponsors-YM-5K-run-3-2012.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"330\" height=\"253\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-22456\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Representatives of this year\u2019s 5K sponsor, Quick Lane Tire and Auto Center, are shown with Y staff. (YMCA photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>An additional $100 is available as bonus winnings if either the top male or female breaks the \u201cchallenge time\u201d set for the 3.1 flat course record.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSomething else new we are offering this year is a free breakfast provided by Bob Evans for all who are pre-registered,\u201d Schaufelberger.<\/p>\n<p>The breakfast will be held in the pavilion immediately following the race.<\/p>\n<p>Race registration forms are available at the front desk of the Y, online under events at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vwymca.org\">www.vwymca.org<\/a> or by emailing <a href=\"mailto:julie@vwymca.org\">julie@vwymca.org<\/a>.
