A Van Wert man who received 18 months in prison on drug trafficking charges was one of seven people sentenced Tuesday during hearings held in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court.<\/p>\n

Cyle Black, 25, received two nine-month prison terms on fifth-degree felony drug trafficking counts, with Judge Charles D. Steele ordering that the terms run consecutive to each other. The judge, who determined that Black was not amenable to community control, also ordered him to pay $140 in restitution.<\/p>\n

Black was one of a number of area residents indicted for selling drugs to undercover agents during a drug operation conducted by the Van Wert Police Department last summer.<\/p>\n

Two other people received trips to the Western Ohio Regional Treatment and Habilitation (WORTH) Center in Lima when sentenced on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Zachary Springer, 20, of Van Wert, will serve up to six months in the WORTH Center as part of his three-year community control sentence on three counts of trafficking in heroin. Springer must also undergo a substance abuse assessment and had his driver\u2019s license suspended for six months.<\/p>\n

Alonzo Munoz, 19, of Van Wert, was also given up to six months in the WORTH Center when he was sentenced Tuesday on a felony domestic violence charge.<\/p>\n

Munoz was also ordered to have no contact with the victim in the case and was released on a personal surety bond until he is to be transported to the WORTH Center.<\/p>\n

Forrest Houseworth III, 28, of Van Wert, will spend 30 days on electronically monitored house arrest as part of a three-year community control sentence meted out for carrying a concealed weapon, a fourth-degree felony offense.<\/p>\n

Two area men were sentenced Tuesday for stealing scrap metal from a 70-year-old county resident. Taylor Saum, 22, of Delphos, and Andrew J. Lumpkins, 24, of Spencerville, both received a year of community control on misdemeanor theft charges of theft from an elderly person. Both were ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $364 to the victim in the case.<\/p>\n

Also sentenced was Greg Glander, 29, of Van Wert, who was given a year of community control on a charge of attempted possession of drugs, a first-degree misdemeanor. Glander must also undergo a substance abuse assessment.<\/p>\n

Another Van Wert man, Timothy A. Wollet, 31, had his sentencing hearing on a charge of trafficking in heroin continued so that Judge Steele could further review the case.<\/p>\n

Also Tuesday, two people were resentenced to community control after both were found guilty of violating the terms of their previous community control terms.<\/p>\n

Andrew Stocklin, 27, of Delphos, admitted to violating four conditions of his probation and was resentenced to three years of community control, with the added stipulation that he spend 50 days in jail.<\/p>\n

Ryan King, 26, of Van Wert, was also resentenced to three years of community control after admitting he violated his previous community control term and was given up to six months in the WORTH Center as an additional stipulation.<\/p>\n

A third person, Lauren Rupert, 20, of Rockford, had her hearing on a violation of her treatment in lieu of conviction sentence continued because her family had arranged for her to undergo an 18-month treatment program. Judge Steele postponed the hearing to see whether Rupert is able to complete the new treatment program.<\/p>\n

Two people changed their pleas to guilty during hearings held Tuesday in Common Pleas Court.<\/p>\n

Kyle W. Caldwell, 32, of Van Wert, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of trespassing in a habitation, a fourth-degree felony. A presentence investigation was ordered in the case and sentencing set for 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 16.<\/p>\n

Ryan Schaadt, 27, of Van Wert, entered a guilty plea to a charge to two counts of possession of drugs, both fifth-degree felonies. A presentence investigation was ordered and sentencing scheduled for 9 a.m. May 16. Schaadt was ordered held on a $10,000 cash bond after admitting to violating conditions of his personal surety bond.<\/p>\n

A Flint, Mich., woman pleaded guilty to a drug charge during her arraignment Tuesday in Common Pleas Court.<\/p>\n

Darlene Hendershoot, 37, entered a guilty plea to an amended charge of attempted possession of drugs, a first-degree misdemeanor. She was sentenced to 60 days in jail, with credit for 22 days already served.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
