A big congratulations to Thad Walker (above left) and Brayden Langdon (right) who placed in the top nine for the state of Ohio.  Their artwork will move on to the national competition for the chance to be featured in the National Online Safety calendar. (Photo submitted.)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Congratulations to the junior high boys\u2019 and girls\u2019 track teams as they both placed fourth at the Parkway Invitational meet last Saturday.\u00a0 The boys scored 105 points and the girls scored 99 points.<\/p>\n<p>Highlights of the meet included Hunter Blankemeyer finishing first in the 110 meter hurdles (18.02) and the high jump, as well as finishing second place in the 200 meter hurdles (29,96).\u00a0 Hunter\u2019s jump of 5\u20192\u201d tied the meet record.\u00a0 In the pole vault, Carter Gorman (7\u20196\u201d) placed third, Ryan Jacomet (6\u20196\u201d) was fourth, and Logan Steele (6\u2019)was fifth.\u00a0 John Mason placed fourth in the high jump (4\u201910\u201d) and was part of the third place 4&#215;400 relay team of Farmer, Schmersal, Mason and Whitaker (4:18.78).\u00a0 Colin Burns came away with a fourth place in the mile (5:42.95) and sixth place in the 800 meter run (2:38.60).\u00a0 Skyler Whitaker was sixth in the 400 meter dash (1:03.54) and the 4&#215;200 relay team of Schmersal, Temen, Frost and McMaster took fifth place (1:55.34).<\/p>\n<p>Highlights for the girls\u2019 team included first place finishes for Anna Gorman in the mile (6:05.9) and Ashton Bowersock in the 800 meter run (2:49).\u00a0 Ashton also took third place in the 400 meter dash (1:08) and both girls were part of the 4&#215;400 relay team (5:00.61)of Wendel, Rhoades, Bowersock and Gorman that placed third.\u00a0 Alyssa Matthews finished second in the shot put (30\u201911.75\u201d) as well as sixth in the discus event (54\u20191\/2\u201d).\u00a0 Brooke Thatcher came away with fourth place in the 100 hurdles (19.51) and the 4&#215;100 relay team of Cowling, Wendel, Thatcher and Bigham (1:00.77) placed fifth.
