{"id":2339,"date":"2011-02-02T02:00:11","date_gmt":"2011-02-02T07:00:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/?p=2339"},"modified":"2011-02-02T02:13:20","modified_gmt":"2011-02-02T07:13:20","slug":"2339","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2011\/02\/02\/2339\/","title":{"rendered":"Patrol works to make Ohio safer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Ohio State Highway Patrol information<\/em><\/p>\n<p>It is a new day in the Ohio State Highway Patrol, and troopers recently have been tasked with this question \u2013 \u201cWhat will you do today to contribute to a safer Ohio?\u201d\u00a0 The answer <a rel=\"attachment wp-att-2340\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/?attachment_id=2340\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-2340\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/osplogo.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"121\" height=\"160\" \/><\/a>can be found in the Patrol\u2019s new symbol of its efforts, <em>Trooper Shield<\/em> \u2013 which challenges troopers to measure progress one day at a time, one less fatality than the day before or one more dangerous driver removed from the roadway.<\/p>\n<p>Troopers will target impaired and dangerous drivers while concentrating on criminal patrol efforts and major crimes occurring on Ohio\u2019s highways. There will now be an equal emphasis on traffic safety and criminal patrol. However, the Patrol will not be petty fault finders, troopers are going to focus their efforts on the problems that are most important to the motorists they serve.<\/p>\n<p>The Patrol is asking motorists to help them ensure that the roadways are safer tomorrow than they are today. The public can assist in contributing to a safer Ohio by driving the posted speed limit, buckling-up, not driving impaired or aggressively and keeping their eyes on the road.
