BRYAN — The Van Wert High School boys\u2019 tennis team traveled to Bryan and walked away with a 3-2 victory over the Golden Bears.<\/p>\n
Van Wert\u2019s No. 1 singles player Nathan Knodel won 6-2, 6-1, while No. 3 singles player Eric Yeung was victorious, 2-6, 6-3, 6-3, and the No. 2 doubles team of Luke Stevens and Alex Bair defeated their opponents 1-6, 6-4 and 7-6 (8-6).<\/p>\n
Van Wert Coach Mitch Price had compliments for Knodel\u2019s performance. \u201cNathan is playing the best tennis of his career,\u201d the coach said, noting that the No. 2 doubles team played well and overcame a tough third-set tiebreaker.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am so proud of this team, and we are playing red-hot tennis,\u201d Coach Price added. \u201cWe\u2019re excited and ready to keep it going.\u201d<\/p>\n
