Van Wert Lodge 1197, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, held its Soccer Shoot on Saturday, May 5, at the Elks Lodge. \u00a0Approximately 20 students participated in the event and were cheered on by parents and grandparents.<\/p>\n

In the girls division, 7 and under group, placing first was Elliana Kline, second place was Madison Ditmeyer. In the 8-9 age group, first place was Adeline Collins.\u00a0 In the 12-13 age group, first place went to Sydni Thatcher.<\/p>\n

In the boys division, 7 and under group, placing first was Logan Ditmeyer, second was Austin Bockrath and third was Isac Kline.\u00a0 In the 8-9 age group, first place went to Fletcher Collins, second was Landon Moody and third place went to Anthony Kline. In the 10-11 age group, first place went to Ethan Swallow.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In the 12-13 age group, the first place winner was Michael Etter, while second place went to Brandon Hernandez and third place to Drew Kline.<\/p>\n

The first, second and third place winners each received a trophy. All the participants received a participant medal.<\/p>\n

First place winners will represent the Van Wert lodge at the Northwest District Soccer Shoot to be held in Findlay on Saturday, June 16.\u00a0 The winners at the district level will advance to the state contest Saturday, July 28, at Coshocton.<\/p>\n

\u201cVan Wert Lodge is proud to be able to provide this contest each year for the area youth to participate in,\u201d said Fred Fisher, lodge soccer chair, adding that the lodge\u00a0thanks all the parents who brought out their children and stayed to cheer them on.<\/p>\n
