{"id":25083,"date":"2012-06-02T05:55:51","date_gmt":"2012-06-02T10:55:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/?p=25083"},"modified":"2012-06-02T05:56:00","modified_gmt":"2012-06-02T10:56:00","slug":"vw-manor-office-manager-earns-honor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2012\/06\/02\/vw-manor-office-manager-earns-honor\/","title":{"rendered":"VW Manor office manager earns honor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Van Wert Manor information<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The state\u2019s largest organization representing long-term care facilities has honored a Van Wert woman as its June 2012 \u201cHero of Long-Term Care.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tina Hulbert, office manager at Van Wert Manor, was selected by the Ohio Health Care Association (OHCA) as its \u201cHero of Long-Term Care\u201d for the month of June 2012.\u00a0 The organization chooses one long-term care employee each month to honor for service to long-term caregivers, residents and the community.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_25084\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-25084\" style=\"width: 250px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Hulbert-Tina-5-2012.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-25084 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Hulbert-Tina-5-2012.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"356\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-25084\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tina Hulbert<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Hulbert will be honored at the Association\u2019s 2013 annual convention in Columbus, and will be featured on the OHCA website (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ohca.org\">www.ohca.org<\/a>) during the month of June.<\/p>\n<p>Jacque Welch, LNHA, administrator at Van Wert Manor, says Hulbert is passionate about serving the facility\u2019s residents and the community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTina Hulbert is a hero in every way possible,\u201d says Welch. \u201cEvery day she exceeds in service excellence with her positive attitude and team approach to everything she does.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hulbert has been with Van Wert Manor for 17 years, working as a State Tested Nurse\u2019s Aide, human resource coordinator and now as business office manager. \u201cTina has been a leader here for many years,\u201d Welch said. \u201cShe is an expert that many go to for advice when they need assistance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Welch, Hulbert is the first to volunteer, and takes it upon herself to help coordinate all the operations of Van Wert Manor to ensure everything functions. She treats everyone with respect and dignity, but also views them as family.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to her work at the facility, Hulbert recognized a need for public education and became a \u201ccommunity expert\u201d in helping seniors and others understand Medicare coverage, managed care plans and insurance policies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe works very hard with no reward \u2026 just to help the community members out, knowing that she is making their lives a little bit better,\u201d Welch noted.<\/p>\n<p>Welch talks about the story of a person bringing in two shoe boxes, a plastic bag and purse full of receipts, statements and health benefit forms and saying \u201chelp!\u201d\u00a0 \u201cMany people would say they don\u2019t have time, but Tina stepped right in,\u201d says Welch.<\/p>\n<p>Hulbert is also active in community volunteer programs, holiday activities, soccer and middle school events with her children, and collecting items for the Caring and Sharing program for needy seniors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTina was nominated because of her had work and dedication \u2026 she is always willing to pick up and help out when she can,\u201d said Welch. \u201cShe is truly our hero of long-term care!\u201d<strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Van Wert Manor provides a wide range of comprehensive medical services including skilled nursing care, independent and assisted living, hospice, respite care, behavioral health and rehabilitation services.
