(VW independent file photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>For those who think Old Fashioned Farmer\u2019s Days is just a tractor show, read on. There are activities for everyone from little tykes to grandma and grandpa at the annual event, which will be held June 28-July 1 at the Van Wert County Fairgrounds.<\/p>\n<p>A first for Old Fashioned Farmers is a Novice Dog Show to be held Sunday, July 1, at 1 p.m. The show is open to anyone having a dog that may know how to sit or do a trick. This is a free activity for those who enter the show. The Hot Diggity Dog Drill Team will perform again this year as the finale for the dog show.<\/p>\n<p>An old time favorite of young and old is the Car Show on opening night. There will also be a disc jockey playing tunes of the Fifties and Sixties and poodle-skirt girls will be at the gate to welcome people.<\/p>\n<p>There will be a truck show on Saturday, with maybe a blindfolded driver on an obstacle course.\u00a0 The Midstate Mule and Donkey Show will also be held Saturday, starting at 9 a.m., with a donkey costume class in the afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>Antique racecars races will be on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning, with the cars speeding around the track and making a lot of dust. The drivers also love to talk about their old racecars, so come and visit with some of them before or after the racing, and let the kids see the cars up close.<\/p>\n<p>A quilt show will also be held Saturday, along with \u201cmake it take it\u201d ideas, and a craft show is also featured that day.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->For those who are younger, Ronald McDonald will be touring the fairground on Friday afternoon, so bring a camera and have a picture taken with Ronald.<br \/>\nOn Friday, from 5-8 p.m., there will be kids\u2019 \u201cmake and take\u201d projects in the Junior Fair building. Activities all weekend will keep people busy, so buy a $7 single weekend pass and come all four days for the fun. Kids under 12 years are admitted free all four days.
