Off Stage Productions information<\/em><\/p>\n

Off Stage Productions, <\/em>an <\/em>amateur community theatre company providing quality and affordable dinner theatre in Van Wert,<\/em> opens its 2012 season with an American farce —Sex, Please, We\u2019re Sixty<\/em>, written by Michael and Susan Parker and directed by Linda McClure — on Friday, October 5. Plan now to attend the production, with five show dates for consideration: October 5, 6, 7, 12, and 13.<\/p>\n

Open auditions will be held at the Van Wert County Senior Center, 220 Fox Road in Van Wert, on Sunday, August 5, and Tuesday, August 7, starting at 7 p.m.<\/p>\n

The cast consists of two men ages 50s-70s and four women, ages 40s-60s. Scripts are available for review before auditions. Call 419.605.6708 for more information. No experience necessary. Prepare to join the group and have the time of one\u2019s life while entertaining patrons in a relaxing and comfortable setting!<\/p>\n

The following is an overview of Sex, Please, We\u2019re Sixty<\/em>:<\/p>\n

Mrs. Stancliffe\u2019s Rose Cottage Bed & Breakfast has been successful for many years. Her guests (nearly all women) return year after year. Her next-door neighbor, the elderly, silver-tongued Bud \u201cBud the Stud\u201d Davis, believes they come to spend time with him in romantic liaisons.<\/p>\n

The prim and proper Mrs. Stancliffe steadfastly denies this, but really doesn\u2019t do anything to prevent it. She reluctantly accepts the fact that \u201cBud the Stud\u201d is, in fact, good for business.<\/p>\n

Her other neighbor and would-be suitor, Henry Mitchell, is a retired chemist who has developed a blue pill called \u201cVenusia,\u201d after Venus the goddess of love, to increase the libido of menopausal women. The pill has not been tested.<\/p>\n

Add to the guest list three older women: Victoria Ambrose, a romance novelist whose personal life seems to be lacking in romance; Hillary Hudson a friend of Henry\u2019s who has agreed to test the Venusia: and Charmaine Beauregard, a \u201cSouthern belle\u201d whose libido does not need to be increased!<\/p>\n

Bud gets his hands on some of the Venusia pills and the fun begins, as he attempts to entertain all three women! When the mayhem settles down, all the women find their lives moving in new and surprising directions.<\/p>\n
