{"id":26671,"date":"2012-07-17T14:07:29","date_gmt":"2012-07-17T19:07:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/?p=26671"},"modified":"2012-07-17T14:08:17","modified_gmt":"2012-07-17T19:08:17","slug":"music-of-sixties-in-fountain-park","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2012\/07\/17\/music-of-sixties-in-fountain-park\/","title":{"rendered":"Sixties music comes to Fountain Park"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Warning!\u00a0 This week\u2019s concert in Fountain Park on Friday night might produce Beatles.\u00a0 It could also produce Byrds, Hollies, Rolling Stones, Doors, Vogues, Monkees, Raiders and even some Mamas &amp; Papas.\u00a0 Now, even to me this sounds a little scary if not just plain intriguing.\u00a0 You have to admit, the names of bands back in the 1960\u2019s were certainly interesting.<\/p>\n<p>Aftermath: Experience the Sixties is a band that recreates that great music from the 1960s.\u00a0They will be in concert in Fountain Park this Friday night starting at our regular time of 7 p.m.\u00a0 Some of the quotes from past audience members are: \u201cI couldn\u2019t believe my ears; it was just like being there!\u201d\u00a0\u201cThey had me dancing all night long!\u201d\u00a0\u201cI had to smile when I saw them all decked out in their costumes and playing the music that I remember so well!\u201d and \u201cI may be too young to remember the \u201860s, but I still have fun when Aftermath plays!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I have said it many times, but the true test of good music is its longevity among listeners.\u00a0 Although some song titles of the Sixties were strange, they are still played and people still want to hear them today.\u00a0 Songs like \u201cWooly Booly\u201d, \u201cLight My Fire\u201d, \u201cHard Day\u2019s Night\u201d, and \u201cDaydream Believer\u201d are simple, if not strange titles, but songs that have stuck with us throughout the past 50 years.\u00a0Aftermath will bring these and many others back for an evening of reminiscing and enjoyment.<\/p>\n<p>Bring your friends and enjoy another beautiful evening in Fountain Park in downtown Van Wert.\u00a0 The price is right; the times are fun and the music memorable.
