{"id":26993,"date":"2012-07-25T13:40:32","date_gmt":"2012-07-25T18:40:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/?p=26993"},"modified":"2012-07-25T13:40:32","modified_gmt":"2012-07-25T18:40:32","slug":"entry-procedure-for-county-fair-photo-exhibit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2012\/07\/25\/entry-procedure-for-county-fair-photo-exhibit\/","title":{"rendered":"Entry procedure for County Fair photo exhibit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Rex Dolby<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As mentioned in last week&#8217;s column, the deadline to enter pictures for the Van Wert County Fair&#8217;s photography exhibit is Noon, Wednesday, August 1.\u00a0This report will detail what needs to be completed by that date.<\/p>\n<p>If you have access to a computer, search <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vanwertcountyfair.com\/\">www.vanwertcountyfair.com<\/a> and on the left column click Premium Book. When the page comes up, click on the gray 2012 Van Wert County Fair Book and scroll down to page 7, table of contents.\u00a0 Locate the Entry Form-General and note that it is found on page 76.\u00a0Click there and either print off that form, or go to the Fair Board office between the hours of 9-5, Monday-Friday\u00a0or 9-12 on Saturday to get a form.\u00a0 If you don&#8217;t have a computer, stop in at the Wassenberg Art Center during regular hours and we\u2019ll give you a copy of the form.<\/p>\n<p>To know how to fill the form in properly, you will have to go to Photography-Dept. Q on page 68.\u00a0For seniors and youth, the Dept. Letter is <strong>Q <\/strong>for every picture.\u00a0For seniors, the Division number is <strong>1601 <\/strong>for color and <strong>1602 <\/strong>for B\/W.\u00a0For youth, <strong>1603 <\/strong>is color and <strong>1604 <\/strong>for\u00a0B\/W.<\/p>\n<p>Seniors and Juniors will use the same class numbers for their pictures. <strong>01 <\/strong>for Around the Fair,<strong> 02 <\/strong>for Landscape, <strong>03<\/strong> for Fresh Produce, <strong>04 <\/strong>for In the Air,\u00a0and <strong>05<\/strong> for Dolls<\/p>\n<p>One picture can be entered in each class of\u00a0the two divisions.\u00a0When you decide which divisions and classes you plan to enter (there&#8217;s no penalty if you decide later not to enter a planned picture) and fill out the entry form, you are ready to take it and $18 for a ticket, to the Fair Board Office, between the hours of 9 a.m. \u2013 5 p.m., Monday \u2013 Friday and 9 a.m.\u201312 noon on Saturday.\u00a0If you have a question, the Fair Board&#8217;s number is 419-238-9270.<\/p>\n<p>Of the rules that need to be followed, number 11 has caused some confusion prior.\u00a0 It states: Frames with opening no larger than 8&#8243;x10&#8243; may be used.\u00a0 Panoramic frame <strong>openings<\/strong> cannot exceed 5&#8243;x12&#8243;.\u00a0People are so used to the picture being 8&#215;10, (which it still can be) and the frame around it being whatever size to make it look good that they miss the fact that it is the frame<strong> opening <\/strong>that can&#8217;t exceed 8 inches x 12 inches.\u00a0 Read the rules carefully before preparing your pictures.<\/p>\n<p>The Van Wert County Fair exhibit is sponsored in part by the Van Wert County Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>The Wassenberg Art Center\u2019s hours during exhibits are: Tuesday through Sunday 1\u20135 p.m. and you may contact the art center at 419.238.6837, by email: <a href=\"mailto:wassenbergdirector@embarqmail.com\">info@wassenbergartcenter.org<\/a> or via our website at: <a href=\"http:\/\/wassenbergartcenter.org\/\">wassenbergartcenter.org<\/a>.
