{"id":2824,"date":"2011-02-09T14:59:27","date_gmt":"2011-02-09T19:59:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/?p=2824"},"modified":"2011-02-09T15:09:06","modified_gmt":"2011-02-09T20:09:06","slug":"lancer-lines-2911","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2011\/02\/09\/lancer-lines-2911\/","title":{"rendered":"Lancer Lines 2\/9\/11"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Delphos Area Art Guild is holding a High School Invitational Art Show on the second floor gallery of the Delphos Museum of Postal History at 339 N Main St. from January 22 through February 11.\u00a0 There are thirty one students from Lincolnview exhibiting pieces of artwork in a show that has 195 pieces of art on display.<\/p>\n<p>The high schools that are participating are Botkins, Crestview, Delphos Jefferson, Delphos St. Johns, Fort Jennings, Lincolnview, the Marsh<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2826\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2826\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/Calista-Dowdy-lancerlines.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2826  \" style=\"border: 1px solid black\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/Calista-Dowdy-lancerlines.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2826\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Calista Dowdy shown with artwork.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Foundation, Ottoville, and Van Wert.\u00a0 Lincolnview had several award winners. Calista Dowdy received a first place and a monetary award for her sand painting titled <em>Falling in Love. <\/em>Holly Diller received an honorable mention in the drawing category for her scratchboard titled <em>Poirot<\/em> and Merissa Jones also received an honorable mention in the painting category for her acrylic titled <em>Scarlet Letter.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The following organizations, the Delphos Optimists Club, the Delphos Kiwanis and the Delphos Rotary sponsored and provided the monetary prizes for the students. The exhibit is open on Fridays 1-5, Saturdays 10-2, and Sunday 1-4. The Delphos Area Art guild holds meeting on the third Tuesday of each month at 8 p.m. with various workshops.\u00a0\u00a0 Currently guest ceramic artist, Ralph Stuckman, is presenting a Delphos Community Project where the participants are creating tiles that will be placed in a community mural that features the history of Delphos and the surrounding area. The public is invited to join us.
