The first grade students from St. Mary of the Assumption School and their teacher, Mrs. Yackey, stand with their "Trinity Snowman." Mrs. Yackey, the first grade teacher, uses a snowman to help her to teach this hard to understand concept. The base represents "God the Father." "God the Son" is represented by the body of the snowman with outstretched arms. "God the Spirit" is represented by the head. The "Trinity Snowman" will be on display in front of the school as long as our winter weather continues.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Jan. 30 through Feb. 4 was “Catholic School Week.” The week began with a
\nschool Mass on Sunday morning. The students were cantors, readers, servers and sang two songs. An Open House featuring a scavenger hunt followed Mass. Outside each classroom was a large report card. Students had rated the school in areas like building, cafeteria, variety of lessons, teachers, field trips and etc. The comments indicate our students think St. Mary’s is a great school to attend.<\/p>\n

As part of Catholic School Week activities, the students of St. Mary of the Assumption School participated in a "Mini Me' Day. The students were to dress up as a teacher in our school. The student in each class who most resembled a teacher was recognized. Pictured is Braxton Williamson dressed as our principal, David Mathew. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
