(Photo submitted.)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>After checking out pictures for the Fair Board on Tuesday, the Wassenberg Camera Club returned to the art center this past Saturday and Sunday to check in pictures for the\u00a0Wassenberg&#8217;s 35th Annual Photography Exhibit.<\/p>\n<p>Nineteen photographers brought in 116 pictures on Saturday and another 24 submitted an additional 175 for judging on Sunday. The two day totals stood at 291\u00a0pictures from 43 entrants. Although this year had 2 fewer entrants than last year, the average number of pictures they submitted was slightly higher at 6.77, compared\u00a0with 6.71 last year.<\/p>\n<p>It appeared that I 75 was the eastern boundary for distance traveled. \u00a0Cities along that line ranged from Findlay in the north to Dayton in the south.\u00a0For longest distances traveled from Indiana, Leesburg (just north of Warsaw) and Fisher (at the edged of Indianapolis) were the most northwestern and southwestern\u00a0locations.<\/p>\n<p>The club&#8217;s next regular meeting is Thursday, September 13, at 7 p.m. at the Wassenberg Art Center. \u201cHats\u201d will be the competition theme in prints and slides that\u00a0evening. \u00a0Participants may submit up to 3 pictures for $1, which is split among the winners. People not competing put $1 in the &#8220;no show&#8221; cup to encourage\u00a0participation. Also, the pictures will be arranged so they can easily be seen when the judges and camera club members arrive at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 15, to determine the\u00a0winning photos in each category and those to receive special recognition.<\/p>\n<p>Will Hawkins has given three more cameras to the club. The Kodak Instamatic X-15 was built from 1970-76 and used 126 film. \u00a0The Kodak Hawkeye Pocket\u00a0Instamatic camera was manufactured from 1973-79 and used 110 film, and the Kodak Tele-Ektralite 600 was made from 1980-82 and used 110 film.
