{"id":29024,"date":"2012-09-19T05:29:00","date_gmt":"2012-09-19T10:29:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/?p=29024"},"modified":"2012-09-19T05:29:28","modified_gmt":"2012-09-19T10:29:28","slug":"drive-one-4-ur-school-event-at-vantage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2012\/09\/19\/drive-one-4-ur-school-event-at-vantage\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Drive One 4 UR School&#8217; at Vantage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Vantage Career Center information<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Across the United States, today\u2019s youths are missing out on extremely valuable opportunities to expand their knowledge and diversify their interests, as well as the chance to have a little fun!\u00a0 Statewide Ford Lincoln wants to keep these opportunities available for local students at Vantage.<\/p>\n<p>Statewide is once again bringing Ford Motor Company\u2019s Drive One 4 UR School program to the Van Wert community in an effort to raise up to $8,000 for Vantage.\u00a0 For every person who takes the wheel and test-drives a new Ford or Lincoln at Vantage this Saturday, September 22, Statewide Ford Lincoln and Ford Motor Company will donate $20 to Vantage. There will be a $10 bonus paid if participants take a second test-drive in the all-new 2013 Ford Escape. The money raised will be shared between the Vantage High School Scholarship Fund, the Interact Club, and the Student Activities fund.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Drive-One-4-UR-School-logo.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-29025\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Drive-One-4-UR-School-logo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"175\" height=\"174\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Drive-One-4-UR-School-logo.jpg 250w, https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Drive-One-4-UR-School-logo-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 175px) 100vw, 175px\" \/><\/a>Additionally, those coming to Vantage for a test drive will get a \u201csneak peek\u201d at the new south addition of the school, which includes the commons area, the Cup &amp; Saucer Restaurant, the high school office and Community Room.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe know funding for school programs is hard to come by, and we want to do our part to help make sure that these programs remain available to our local students,\u201d said Steve Munroe, General Manager at Statewide. \u201cWe\u2019re excited to add Vantage to the Van Wert County schools that have benefited from the Drive One program.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The event, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., will feature many vehicles from Ford\u2019s impressive line-up.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhether you are looking to test out our larger vehicles, like the Explorer or F-150, or are more interested in a smaller sedan like the Focus or Fusion, we will be able to put you behind the wheel of your favorite Ford vehicle,\u201d said Munroe.<\/p>\n<p>Since the start of Ford\u2019s Drive One 4 UR School program in 2007, more than $11 million in donations have been generated for high schools nationwide.
