Volunteers have been hard at work tearing off old paneling, removing ceiling tiles, ceiling tile tracks, uncovering windows and knocking down walls. Soon a couple trees that are diseased will come down in preparation for a new roof. Students from Vantage Career Center\u2019s construction department with their instructor, Larry Mengerink also began work in earnest today. Soon we\u2019ll be able to see clear up into the expanse of the drill hall. We want to thank everyone who has helped either with monetary donations or volunteering to pitch in this expansive project. We know this project would not be successful without your enthusiasm and gritty hard work. We know how to do all that stuff and are here to show you how too. In addition we have even more traditional art classes if that isn&#8217;t your style. Learn to use those crazy muppets help create your own theater and productions. $30 members, $35 non-members.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wassenbergartcenter.org\/announcements\/drawing-for-the-fraidy-cat\"><strong>Drawing for the Fraidy Cat!<\/strong><\/a><strong> <\/strong>(Ages 12 &#8211; 130) Instructor: Matthew TempleOctober 9, 16, 23, 30, 6:30\u20138 p.m. Stick people are people too! This class is for anyone who would like to dabble but has trouble putting pencil to paper. There are NO mistakes so give it a try. Learn different and sometimes downright crazy but effective techniques.\u2028$30 members, $35 non-members.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wassenbergartcenter.org\/announcements\/more-classic-watercolor\"><strong>More Classic Watercolor<\/strong><\/a> Classic Watercolors (adult) October 9, 16, 23, 30, 10 a.m.\u2013noon Instructor: Pat Rayman. Students will learn some of the classic and time-tested watercolor techniques for a solid base and further their watercolor painting skills. Wet on wet, dry brush and other tricks will be demonstrated and explored. This class is ongoing but you can jump in anytime. Materials required. $30 members, $35 non-member.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wassenbergartcenter.org\/announcements\/sgraffito-pumpkins\"><strong>Sgraffito Pumpkins<\/strong><\/a> (ages 9-130 (ages 9-12 w\/adult) October 23, 24, 25,6:30-7 p.m. Instructor: Matt Temple. Choose from a myriad of items such as cute piggy banks, Russian nesting dolls, and functional bisqued pottery to paint and glaze as you choose to make for friends and loved ones. Easy and fun and just in time for the holidays! $40 members\/$45 non-members. All materials supplied.<\/p>\n<p>Citizen\u2019s National Bank brings you the 35<sup>th<\/sup> Annual Wassenberg Art Center Photography Exhibit, which will open on Oct. 6 with a public reception at 7 p.m. and run through Nov. 2. Food will be provided by the Upper Crust and will definitely prove to be refreshments worth munching. We wish to thank all participating photographers who entered the competition. You have outdone yourselves once again!
